Some consider Pride as no longer necessary seeing as LGBTQ+ rights have come along way in recent decades. However, it is most definitely still needed, society has a long way to go – hate crimes are on the rise, being gay is illegal in 72 countries and punishable by death in 7, other members of the LGBT community are not as fortunate in terms of acceptance and rights as the gay community and people still use causal homophobia in their day to day life – You can head to my Instagram story highlights of Pride where I explain how we was met with homophobia on the journey home from Pride in London.
Pride is the only day and only place where someone who is LGBT can feel (or is supposed to feel) 100% themselves, accepted and free. This is the exact reason I love Pride because me and those around me can completely be themselves without any judgment. However, pride is also supposed to be a protest, a protest to the inequality the LGBT community faces in society. However, when I was at Brighton Pride I saw lots of big corporate companies such as Barclays with floats in the parade, shops and restaurants promoting pride and pop up stands like L’oreal promoting their products. I couldn’t explain why but it has gradually been making me feel more uncomfortable after each Brighton Pride I go to.
Large corporate companies turning pride into a brand in order to bring in customers and sell products has shifted the focus of pride away from freedom, acceptance and a protest of what is wrong in society. Which has led to Brighton Pride almost becoming a brand that companies use to capitalise off without even promoting what pride should be about.
In saying this, I will continue to go to Pride because it brings me joy, as I said before I am not going to not go to Pride because it has become capitalised and almost turned into a business. At the end of the day it still makes me feel good to have one day of the year when I can be and feel my true self with no judgement and full acceptance.
I will definitely be doing more posts on homophobia and LGBT rights – Thanks for reading,
I first fell in love with Costa Rica when I spent a year of my A-Levels learning about what an amazing country it is. So I managed to convince my friends to come and visit this beautiful country with me and we was not disappointed.
IMAGINE fruit stalls on the corner of every highway, old American style school buses , a tropical climate of warm 33 temperatures in the day and hour downpours in the afternoon. Monkeys, Coatis, Raccoons, toucans and parrots swinging from the lush vegetation with black sand beaches and volcanos shaping the coastline – Costa Rica you truly have stolen my heart.
Costa Rica is in Central America connecting the USA with South America, not only is it rated the happiest nation to live in it is also named one of the most biodiverse.
Costa Rica offers everything from a relaxing holiday in the sun to an adventure holiday exploring all the land has to offer.
We stayed on the pacific ocean side (Guanacaste region) which was a mountainous region with rich rainforest and sunsets to die for!!!
The only thing I regret is not seeing any wild sloths – Another reason to go back right?
We zip wired through a jungle (& an active volcano), visited the local town of Coco Loco, went on a speedboat trip on the pacific & went horseback riding through the rainforest I recommend each & every one of them – they made our trip & allowed us to see the real Costa Rica.
(We travelled from the UK direct (11 hours) to Liberia airport with TUI – would highly recommend was both convenient & affordable)

So after finishing my first year at Uni I thought i’d write a post on it.
Not only is Uni one of the most if not the most nerve-racking life experiences I have gone through it has also been one of the best. I know i’m in first year so my view on uni might be slightly optimistic compared to the next 2 years. However, it hasn’t been easy I have had 4 presentations, 6 essays and 2 exams from very contrasting modules. Despite this I would reassure a lot of people that (first year anyway) has been less stressful than A levels – i’m not sure if thats because I am now more prepared or the work load is easier or even if my environment impacted this.
Even when I was 15 I didn’t plan on doing A levels let alone Uni but I believe it has been one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. I understand the financial side can be daunting but I personally think it is quiet a smart scheme and you only pay if you reep the benefits of uni (which despite what some people say it will aid your career) – well thats how I see it anyway.
I live away from home and surprisingly the biggest benefit for me this year has not necessarily been educational (so far) but, maturity – how to be independent and responsible, it really has helped me to grow up (and appreciate all my parents do for me).
Of course it isn’t for everyone but only you will know if it is or not. If it is don’t let anything hold you back and do it, it will be the best decision you make and be some of the best years of your life. Even if you don’t get the grades, don’t get the course or accommodation you want (like me) don’t let it stop you after all, everything happens for a reason.
Lemons may usually be thought of as bitter but, if you start incorporating lemon accents into your outfits this summer it will be anything but.
I am not one to follow trends however I am totally on this yellow/ lemon/ mustard hype. I am such a navy, white, black and grey type of guy so brightening up my wardrobe with this colour palette would have seemed daunting not so long ago. However i’ve seen so many people killing it lately with these bright colours. So, if you’re like me and want to switch up your wardrobe and fit in with the brighter season that is (hopefully) ahead of us then defo go and invest in something that is yellow whether it be a whole outfit or an accessory – I will leave some of my favs down below.
I’m in love with this Baywatch-T perfect for the summer, it is bright and refreshing, it adds a bit of cheeky to my classic wardrobe – I will definitely be taking this one on my travels.

Whilst I was not naïve and was aware I had very little English in me, I believed I knew all there was to know about my family and where I was from but, I was wrong. I wanted the Ancestry DNA kit for a while, the process includes spitting in a tube and posting it to America and waiting 6 weeks for the results – odd I know.
The kit was £79 and from my perspective was worth every penny. Not only does it trace what countries you originate from it also matches you to close and distant relatives that show similarities your DNA and links your data to family trees on the site.
So I am basically a concoction of everywhere (apart from Africa and Far-East Asia – odd considering I have always been told my grandad was Madagascar – turns out he was in fact from an island in the Melanesia region in the Pacific).
What I love about this DNA test is that it shows you how all of us on this world are so similar and if you look hard enough we all are linked in one way or another. It proves to me that we are all part of one race and no one is better than another, I would love for those who have this superior mentality to other races and religions to do this test and get a shock that they themselves are part of a race which they can be so horrid towards. We are all on this world together so more love and less hate please.

Ok if you are ever in London and want a quick but chíc lunch you have to go to EatbyChloe in Covent Garden
It is a vegan fast food restaurant, the food was incredible and so were the vibes – especially the swing chairs. Very aesthetically pleasing
I loved everything we ordered, omg the ‘parmesan crust’ – Yum
I love you London and i’m definitely going to be back to ByChloe and try the meatball sub.
Thanks Sophie Bala for taking me to these fab places (and for the insta shots) xo

I got this beauty from Zara. I had been wanting one for ages after I saw a blogger shooting it in Joe&Juice in London one day. Since I have searched everywhere for something similar and the closest I got was one in Dior which was extortionate.
I am in love with it for so many reasons:
1- It is sooo comfortable so it is a perfect airport outfit or for a long car journey
2- It isn’t like the ‘typical’ tracksuit you would in-vision It gives you comfort and style
3- It fits so well. Mine is a small which does fit well for me now but in the christmas period maybe a little bit on the small side – I blame the cheese board.
4- The CROPPED leg. I know I am about a year or two late to this trend but I don’t care i’m living for it
5- The matching navy and burgundy stripes on both the jacket and the bottoms. Which goes perfectly with my watch strap i’m currently wearing.
This tracksuit is more suitable for spring but I am finding it so hard to not wear it now in the colder months especially here in England (I do but I freeze).
It is perfect teamed with a plain white t-shirt like I have here, I usually tuck it in. In terms of shoes low top trainers are my favourite. My all time favourite shoes to wear with this are my Gucci ace sneakers when I bought them it was literally for an outfit like this. Although I do love wear my classic vans with this outfit too.
